Punky is attempting to go High Fructose Corn Syrup free for the upcoming year.
Period.
Okay, well, on the rare occasions I eat out, I'm not gonna sweat it. Though I will attempt to order things I think are HFCS free.
It isn't that I am worried about cookies or other sweet treats, it is the things that are supposed to be not sweet. Have you read the labels on your savory treats lately? A lot have HFCS. No one needs that much sugar content in their diet.
I thought about going Paleo...but I like rice & pasta...and milk & cheese, so...I'm going HFCS free instead. I eat a lot of fresh vegetables, especially peppers, because I am a genius at growing peppers. I even like corn in and of itself (give me corn tortillas over flour 75% of the time), but HFCS seems to be the worst of corn all wrapped up in syrupy-baddness. So, I am going to attempt to completely eliminate it from my diet.
I hope this goes better (or at least longer) than when I tired to to buy things that weren't made in China*.
*I have nothing at all against the Chinese people or culture, but I am a little afraid of how much of our country's debt is owned by the Chinese government.
