Doing the same thing over and expecting a different result.
Definition of insanity, baby.
At some point, you have to accept that something just isn't working.
Someone just doesn't want to be your friend. Some paths just weren't meant to be trod upon. Some things you just aren't supposed to do.
No matter how much you want it or hard you try, some things just weren't meant to be.
Doesn't make you a bad person, and it doesn't make the others involved bad people* it just means it is time to move on.
Purge, baby, purge.
*Unless, of course, they are just right bastards, but, even if, it isn't like you can control that anyway. You can only control your response to their bastardishness.

so are you telling me if I keep running head first into a brick wall that I will eventually fall down next to the wall with a huge headache???
damn wall!!! (shakes fist at wall) :p
Purge the bastards, too.
**hugs** and Happy New Year!
Move on and move on up.
Preferably to the East side.
Good advice. It took me forever to figure out that a friendship wasn't working at all.
friend breakups are necessary. sometimes you are friends with someone so long that its hard to accept that you are friends with someone you don't even really like as a person.
Ive broken up with several friends in the past few years -- they just weren't friends in any sense of the word, yet it was hard to 'break up' because they were friends of friends, etc.
friends like that are life suckers.
life is way to short to waste your time on bastard people.
*sigh* You're right, of course. The trick is doing something about it, isn't it?
"Bastardishness"
If it doesn't make it into Webster's this year, it should surely have an appearance in the Urban Dictionary. Barring that, the colloquialism factor should keep it alive 'round most parts for quite some time.
I'll always want to be your friend!
It's good to have someone who sees things differently to connect with!
But, yeah...if someone is letting you down, or just making you down...better to move on.
