  • It's time for another episode of...

    ...did you know?

Did you know that the Army has raised its maximum enlistment age to 42?

Did you know that the Peace Corps pays you just over $6000 at the end of your tour to transition back to your life?

Did you know that I am getting restless again?

  • $6Gs you say??  hmm...

  • It helps a lot....if you leave early for medical reasons (like I did) they pay you for the number of months you  were there. It's so tempting to do the Peace Corps again.

  • There is no upper limit to death.

  • Yes, No, and I figured you were.

  • Not that surprising the Army has raised its max age. The Peace Corps, on the other hand, has been something I've considered off and on for ages.

  • I've contemplated peace corps so many times in my life, but after my ex went to the corps, I kind of decided against it. He had a hard time transitioning back, since he chose a dumb time, career-wise, to do it (he's an architect), especially since the 2 yrs spent in wherever he was, did not apply.

He calls it the 2-yr fix--it got the antsy-ness out of him, but then when he came back it was like, 'now what?"

From how he described it, the experience seemed more "real" than "awesome."

But that's just him. I'm sure a lot is dependent on where you go and who you meet.
