  • Day Six...random thoughts

I've been pondering some pretty heavy questions on the road.

What kind of dinosaur was Dino on the Flintstones?

Why are people so much friendly in smaller cities and towns?

If I eat beef jerky and tuna (not mixed together, cause that would be gross) for dinner, does that count as surf and turf?

Why is Rock Springs a boom town?

Do I really care? They have an IHOP and a Starbucks...I'm happy.

Today I had quite the weather, it was gray but dry in Butte this morning, about the time I hit Dell, Montana, it was snowing, hard. Then a gentle through Idaho. Then sleet in Utah. Then an actual thunderstorm in West Wyoming.  And, here in  Rock Springs, Wyoming, sunny and warmish (55°F).

I did have to nap at a rest stop in Utah, Flib pointed out to me during my visit that once you feel too sleepy, it is too late, your reaction abilities are already compromised. So, I stopped at the rest stop/visitor center just outside of Ogden. The dogs did their business, I used the facilities, and got my free Utah state map. Then I realized I was getting close to being a little tired. So, I napped in the car. Only problem with that is that my car is so full, I really couldn't stretch out, I was afraid I'd get crick in my neck, yet, I slept for an hour and felt great when I awoke.

I felt so good, in fact, that I decided to skip staying the night in Salt Lake City and push on to Wyoming. I called my dad, he found the Motel 6 in Rock Springs, and made my reservation online for me. Good thing too, because,
when I got here they were out of non-smoking rooms, but, I had a reservation.

This is a damn nice Motel 6. Hard wood floors, recently renovated. I like it.

Tomorrow, Colorado. Saturday, Albuquerque where I'll get to see this dude.

This has been a good trip.

  • Your adventure sounds SO fun.  A nice motel 6 -- now THAT is something to write about :)

  • And a good trip is worth the wait and the weight in gold.    Enjoy yourself, darlin'.

  • Did you really say 55 degrees is "warmish"?  You, my dear, are twisted.  I like that about you .

I still envy you.  It sounds like such a great journey.  So much to see.
