Day One
I am pissed off.
Not because it took longer to pack the car this morning than anticipated.
Not because I, once again, overestimated the amount of space in the vehicle and the underestimated the amount of stuff I had. Therefore, having to purge myself of things, I kind of wanted to keep. And, this time there was no Cherbs to bring me pizza.
Not because I stubbed my right big toe and lost a good chunk of the nail as well as had my tow swimming in blood all day.
Not because they took a crap-load more taxes out of my final paycheck than I had hoped.
No, I am pissed because in two and half years in San Francisco and the bay area at large, no one told me about the Mount Shasta region. Breathtakingly beautiful. Course, it is a little odd to see snow while it is 100+ degrees where you are, but I can deal.
I discovered Laughing Cow light cheese, thanks to Glue anyway (thank you Glue, for Mallrats, too), it was a very delicious treat for on the road.
It's funny, I've only known VK, my replacement, for three weeks, but it feels like we've been friends forever. A couple of times on the road today I saw things I thought, "Ooh, I should tell VK about that."
Oregon is gorgeous. Tomorrow lunch with one of my favorite cousins in Portland, then on to Seattle to party like a rock star with the gorgeous Miss Flib.

SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!! See you tomorrow!!!
No one told you about Shasta? Man - that's one of my favorite parts of that drive up I-5.
Have fun in Seattle. And when you get to exit WA-520 on your way to Seattle, wave to my parents. :p
I believe I have mentioned Weed in the past. It sits in the shadow of Mt Shasta (well, not really the shadow, since it's, like, due north-ish, but it'll be under several meters of lava should that bitch ever erupt). It's where I plan to retire.
And the beauty is unforgettable
Also, Mt Shasta has the best cross-country skiing in all of California, in September.
I am greeeeeeen with envy. Green, I tell you.
However, guess who is going to be in Ft Worth for a coupla weeks in June?
(Under duress, I might add.)
yes, that area is really beautiful. It's a shame it still falls under California's jurisdiction.
I just got your message this evening. Things were so messed up schedule wise with this Jeep accident thing. Needless to say, I'm bummed we weren't able to hook up yesterday while you were in town.
