It's been surreal
I am officially unemployed self-employed.
My first order of business as CEO of me, was to give my number one employee a nice, long, well-deserved vacation.Honestly, it was surprisingly emotional leaving the organization I have spent the most time at since I earned my degree. I've learned a lot, I've worked with some amazingly smart and talented people (I've also worked with a fair few miserable bitches and bastards, but, honestly, couldn't care less about them), and I've become more self-aware.
So, now it is adventure time.
I think it is going to be grand.
On another "Miss Malapropos" (though, I tend to mishear as often as misspeak, as is the case in this amusing anecdote) note, things can get very embarrassing when you hear "Shanghai" but the speaker said "Singapore."
See ya'll* in June.

*Yes, it is too, ya'll. Y'all is a different word, it means "you all" as opposed to ya'll which means "ya all." Ya, of course is Texan (and coincidentally, Punky) for you (plural as well as the singular). Deal with it.

Enjoy the freedom of the self-employed! You have to get your benefits in while you can; I'm sure you'll have enough clients soon that scheduling a vacation will be a challenge. (I'm sure you'll still do it, but it will take some extra effort.)
