  • Confessions of a Social Retard

    I hated high school.

I had friends, and I wasn't bullied, but I did not fit in at all. (I know, color you surprised.)

And, now, thanks to facebook, some of those people are haranguing me to go to our reunion. I don't want to go.

I'm trying really hard not to RSVP vehemently...so, I'm kind of ignoring it.

  • You should go, ala Romy and Michelle. Walk in and tell them all you invented Viagra.

  • I skipped my 20.  The reunion committee sought out my sister on Facebook to try to get me to come but I didn't feel like it.  The few people in high school who were my friends are still my friends and I'm thankful for that.  Plus, gah, $100 tickets?  For the macarena and electric slide?  Canned beer?  Please.

They should be paying you to attend.

  • I'm with you on this one.  I'm not going to my 30 year reunion this year, which is actually a year late.  It should be the 31 year reunion.

  • Also, good to see you around.

  • Screw them. Don't accept the friend request if you don't want to and don't even respond to any of the reunion crap.

  • @blunt_force_mama - You know, that's not a bad idea. If only it weren't a cash bar.

  • If you have no interest in the people attending, why go?  Reunions are like a sick evil compulsive desire for people watching on people who don't know, remember or care about.  Or at least that is my excuse.  :)  don't let people pressure you if your initial inclination is not to go.  That would be a perfectly good night wasted that you could have spent with fun people.

  • @NHgirl_26 - Fortunately, my new job precludes any reunion attending, so, it's a no-go for me, which I think is for the best.
